Pure Demo (PS3)Written by Ender on September 19, 2008 · Filed under Games, Review
Imagine a mix between Motorstorm and SSX……..and you’ve got Pure!
I saw the PS3 demo for this game on the Playstation Network and thought it could be good for a laugh for a couple of minutes, but this game has left me wanting more.
Pure is the new ATV racing game from Disney Interactive. In the demo, you have objectives to complete before you can race. The objectives are there just to get you used to the game controls and include, doing a lap around the track, pulling tricks, boosting and completing a lap within 27 seconds.
After completing the objectives, you get the chance to race against another 15 racers. This is when the funs begins, as it can get quite hectic in small parts of the track and its great seeing 7 or 8 ATV’s in mid air off the jumps pulling off tricks.
The tricks are easy to pull off as all you need to do is pull down on the left analogue stick and then up when you reach the peak of the jump to get airborne and depending how full your boost bar is, depends on which button you can press and how big the trick is.
Unfortunately there is only one race on the Pure PS3 demo, but I really want to sink my teeth into the full game. At the end of the demo is tells you what other features are in the game, and they include 48 tracks in 7 different environments.
There are 70 tricks to pull off on your ATV’s, and you can modify your ATV with 100,000 bike variations, and there are 3 different race types to choose from – Sprint, Freestyle and Race Events. You also have to chance to play online with up to 16 people which should be great fun as I feel that online gaming takes a long time to get boring as your opponents are always different.
The Pure PS3 demo also has the function to make use of the DualShock 3 controllers with the rumble feature enabled.
With great visuals and soundtrack, this looks set to be a decent racing game. Keep your eyes open for the full review of Pure on the PS3, because I will be getting this game!!
