PS3 Motion Sensor Controller At E3?
With E3 on the horizon, rumours are bound to be popping up. This one talks of a motion sensing controller for Sony’s Playstation 3.
There have been reports that someone has seen a working prototype of the Sony motion sensor controller which is set to make an appearance at E3 this year in June.
How the controller is meant to work is that it will use light emitting diodes as well as a very small webcam which will be able to track the controller’s exact position. This new motion sensing technology is apparently going to be a lot more accurate than that of the Wii remote – however I wonder how it compares to the Wii Motion Plus?
Whether this rumoured PS3 motion sensor controller will make an appearance or not, only time will tell. But with Nintendo’s Wii Motion Plus release date approaching and Microsoft with their Xbox Full-Body Motion, you’d have thought that this to be a very much needed (real) enhancement to the PS3 console.
UPDATE: Sony have now unveiled their PS3 motion sensor controller at E3 with an interesting tech demo video, be sure to check out it!

Thanks, it sounds pretty interesting, i’ve never really liked the six-axis controls on the ps3 very much and am yet to find a game that i really like to use it in, so hopefully this’ll help thngs somewhat!

I think that with the news about the development of project Natal, they really need to get a move on with any development that they have going or they’re really going to fall behind Microsoft.

Sony’s motion sensor controller had a pretty good demo session at E3 and looks pretty good, however they’ll need to keep developing their technology now that Microsoft has really innovated with Project Natal – assuming they can get that technology to market maintaining the features that they’ve already shown!
