Google Nexus One Vodafone UK Release Date & Pre-Order

Those of you who have been waiting ‘a few short weeks’ for the Nexus One to arrive since January can finally get in your pre-order with Vodafone, who yesterday announced the release of the device.
Vodafone customers can pre-order the device this week before it starts shipping this Friday, April 30th to make sure that they get the phone as early as possible. Google seem to be venturing away from their mix and match idea that they enthusiastically put forward at CES, with Vodafone selling the Nexus One on their website and in store too. Users that go to google.com/phone are now redirected to the Vodafone website to purchase the device.
Vodafone have already addressed several issues that US customers had with support, as there was a confusion as to whether HTC or Google would provide support for the phone. In their press release, Vodafone stated “Vodafone will support customers. You’ll be able to contact us with queries on tariffs, billing, Vodafone services, network queries and handset questions” carrying on to say “We’ll be selling it on both Vodafone.co.uk and our retail stores. It will also be available through telesales.”
It will certainly be interesting to see how demand for the Nexus One is affected by the release of the HTC Desire in the UK, which is already available with many mobile operators.
