New Sony Home Theatre Systems Announced (CES 2010)

Written by on January 7, 2010 · Filed under Tech

These new Sony Home Theatre Systems include the new Sony Blu-Ray players but offer a lot more in terms of a complete media experience. Firstly, the surround sound speakers offer 5.1 sound and full HD 3D TV.

For the most part, the features are the same as they come through the blu-ray player itself, which includes featuring the Sony BRAVIA “Monolithic Design Concept”. In terms of DLNA media streaming around your home and all the access to the network is through the XMB.

The impressive surround sound technology creates a truly cinematic experience much like before. With this system you can upscale DVD’s to high definition resolution and view media from YouTube and other media streaming services through the network.

You get 4 speakers that can be positioned accordingly in the room as well as one main speaker that sits around your TV somewhere along with the sub woofer. There’s nothing particularly new there. The only real improvements with these Sony home theatre systems are the 3D potential, the improved sound quality and the monolithic design which ties in with the new Sony Bravia TV range.
