New Nintendo Wii Channel – ‘Today and Tomorrow’ Fortune Telling

The first thing that came to mind when I read about this was………..why?
Nintendo announced not so long ago that they were making the Internet Channel free instead of charging people to download the software. For those ‘lucky’ ones who bought their Nintendo Wii early, you got this free anyway. But now they’ve announced a new Wii Channel called ‘Today and Tomorrow’.
So what does the ‘Today and Tomorrow’ channel offer to Wii users? Well, just register your Mii character and date of birth and you’ll receive daily fortunes which will be spread out into five categories. These will be Love, Work, Study, Communications and Money. I can hear you all gasping with excitement!! You’ll also be able to see ‘Tomorrows’ fortunes the evening before they happen so you know what to expect from the day ahead.
But that’s not all, it’ll even give you tips on your diet and how you can make your daily life even more interesting.
As you may have gathered, I’m not impressed with the new Wii Channel. Who really wants a horoscope channel on the Wii? I for one am not bothered about it, but each to their own and some of you may find this a bit of fun to play around with.
I don’t know why, but to me, Nintendo seem to be doing more gimmicky things with the Wii nowadays, instead of giving fans (including myself), something a little more interesting than “You’re going to meet a person tomorrow who will change your world forever” – no wonder I asked the question as to whether the Wii was drying up aka dying a slow death?!?!
Either way, let us know what you think of it and if you’ll be downloading the new ‘Today and Tomorrow’ channel which goes live on 9th September.

Hmmm, what is Nintendo doing with this now? It’s one thing to target the mainstream population for gaming, but this just seems to be taking a little too far? Casual gamers already don’t buy that many games, so Nintendo must be limiting their potential profits.
Are they now they now chasing even more markets of diminishing returns?
