New Modern Warfare 2 DLC On Its Way – ‘Resurgence’ Map Pack

The Modern Warfare 2: Stimulus Package map pack has only just been released on the PS3 and PC, but there’s already a new Modern Warfare 2 map pack on its way and it’s available sooner than you think.
The original was released exclusively on the Xbox 360 for 30 days before making its way over to the Playstation 3 and PC, and it looks as though it’s going to be the same again this time around.
The new Modern Warfare 2 map pack is titled the ‘Resurgence Pack’ and will go live on 3rd June this year for Xbox Live subscribers and will include 5 new maps, but there’s no details on what they are yet. As there’s another map pack on the way, Infinity Ward will be doing two double XP Weekends either side of the Resurgence Packs release, so 28th May and 4th June.
No news on price yet, but I’d bet that it would be the same price as the Stimulus Pack which was released only a few weeks back which was £10.79 or 1200 Microsoft Points.
UPDATE: The new Resurgence Pack will cost the same as the previous Stimulus pack and will again include 3 brand new maps and 2 old maps from the original Modern Warfare.
The new maps will be:
- Carnival – A desolate amusement park with great spots for snipers and will include roller coasters, a fun house and bumper cars.
- Trailer Park – A map with tight corridors and condensed areas. The map is set in the living quarters of the people who run the Boneyard which is one of the missions in single player on Modern Warfare 2.
- Fuel – The map is set in an oil refinery and has two sections. One is a wide area which will be ideal for snipers and the other a large warehouse full of tight corridors and is around the size of the Overgrown map for Modern Warfare.
The other two maps which are from the original Modern Warfare are Strike and Vacant.
So what do you think? A bit too soon for another Modern Warfare 2 map pack? Or the more the merrier? Let us know in the comments below.

As much as I love game developers supporting their games well after the release so we can continue to enjoy them I’m starting to get fed up with how they seem to milk us for cash.
Intentionally holding content back so they can release it a month later for a premium may be great for their share holders but it just leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth.
I’m all for developers making money but I feel like this is starting to get a bit silly.
count me out. i will not be buying ANY more games that is controlled like this is. When i buy a game, i want to be able to play it when i want to. I don’t want to be hanging around waiting for some LAME server to match me to others (and usually fails), I have seen more of the lobby than the game. It sucks, and if Black Ops decide at the last minute to do the same, then i won’t be buying it.
