New Knight Rider News
I remember reading speculation about a new Knight Rider project for the past few years, sometimes it was concerning a movie re-make version of the original series, other times it was a new Knight Rider TV show - it turns out that we have in fact a new Knight Rider TV series coming up!
I have fond memories from my childhood of sitting down in front of the TV on a Friday night with my parents and watching the original Michael Knight talking with his state-of-the-art black Pontiac Trans Am KITT car!
The original KITT was the ‘Knight Industries Two Thousand’, whereas the car in the new Knight Rider series is the ‘Knight Industries Three Thousand’ as this show is actually a follow-up to the original series with David Hasselhoff as opposed to the original speculation of it being a re-make. The car itself is a Ford Mustang Shelby in black with the obligatory moving red light at the front; you can see some pictures of the new car here.
With this series being a new instalment in the Knight Rider world, the central character is apparently also the son of David Hasselhoff’s Michael Knight and is referred to as ‘Mike’ by the new KITT - not sure if that’s a bit too casual after the more formal original KITT! 
This new knight rider series is due to start airing in America in February, what with the current writer’s strike going on and other shows being on hiatus or finishing their seasons early, this makes for a real treat…not only new TV episodes, but also a new TV series!
Whether this new show will be any better than the ‘Knight Rider 2010′ spin-off that was made back in 1994 can’t be guaranteed, but I’m hopeful that this will be a cool update to a classic 80s show.

I’m not going to lie I’m really worried about this one. It seems to me like a lot of these remakes have been really bad and I have a lot of fond nostalgia with the original.
You never know, it could end up being another Battlestar Galactica!
I used to love watching Knight Rider! I think it’s awesome that a new series is coming out.
I wonder if the Hoff will be making any appearances.

@Jerad - If only it ends up being another Battlestar Galactica! I’m hoping there will be like most shows these days an ongoing plot/story rather than being completely stand-alone episodes.
@Tish - I’m looking forward to it too, if only to see if they’ve done a good job - I quite like the fact it adds to the original series rather than a complete re-make.
@Forest - I’m sure that would be great, they must be thinking about having him involved somehow, especially since it is not a re-make! Thanks for the video - the Hoff has still got it!
