New Apple MacBook Pro Laptops With Thunderbolt I/O & AMD Graphics Hardware Released

apple-macbookpro-feb2011It turns out that those MacBook Pro related rumours we’ve been seeing in the past few days are all true!

Apple has just announced its new line up of MacBook Pro laptops with Thunderbolt I/O, brand new Sandy Bridge processors and AMD graphics to replace the NVIDIA chips found in the last generation of Apple’s portable line.

There are updates to the 13-inch, 15-inch and 17-inch models, but no iMac updates that were rumoured a few days ago.

Here’s a brief overview of what each new model has to offer, with more detailed information coming soon!

MacBook Pro 13-inch: 2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor; 320GB 5400-rpm hard drive; Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 384MB DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory

MacBook Pro 15-inch: 2.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor; 500GB 5400-rpm hard drive; Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 384MB DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory; AMD Radeon HD 6490M with 256MB GDDR5 memory

MacBook Pro 17-inch: 2.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor; 750GB 5400-rpm hard drive; Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 384MB DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory; AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1GB GDDR5 memory
