Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck’s Revenge Screenshots & Commentary Announced

With only a few months to go before the release of Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck’s Revenge, more screenshots are popping up showing us the overhaul that the game has been given for us to enjoy which you can feast your land loving eyes on below deck.
I’m really looking forward to playing this again with the updated visuals as I loved the remake of the first Monkey Island and it brought back some great memories of my early gaming days.
I’ve still got the originals sat proudly on my desk in the Monkey Island Bounty Pack which contains the first 3 games and of course, then there was Escape From Monkey Island which was the first 3D outing for Guybrush Threepwood and the fourth game in the series, which Telltale Games have now followed up on with their episodic Tales of Monkey Island.
With the remakes being released, it makes me wonder if they’ll do an overhaul for The Curse of Monkey Island which was the third in the series but looked really good with its 2D cartoon animation style.
The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition had a great feature where you could at the touch of a button, flick back to old version of the game at any point you wanted to, this feature will once again be present in Monkey Island 2 Special Edition. However, in addition to that ability, you’ll get another bonus feature this time round in the form of a commentary from the makers of the original game; Ron Gilbert, Tim Schafer and Dave Grossman – take a look at the video below to see the kind of humour you can expect from it.
Will you be getting the Special Edition of Monkey Island 2? Have you played it before and getting the remake or are you new to the Monkey Island experience? Would you like to see more games have bonus features such as commentaries? Lets us know below.
