monaco-vertical-pouch-leather-iphone-caseiPhone cases are anything but scarce. You can pick them up for just a few quid at any respectable market or accessories shop, or even the more famous high street electronics shops.

However, few I have come across possess a nigh-on $40 recommended price tag. So what is it about the Monaco Vertical Pouch, which justifies such an high price tag?…

Well, for starters the iPhone 3GS pouch sports a surprisingly sleek look and is equally comfortable to hold. For the most part it is down to the quality cowhide leather and excellent hand-manufacture of the pouch.

As you would expect the case is largely black, however the stitching gives it great contrast and goes along way to setting this case apart from the cheap alternatives.

Not only does the case look good, due to the quality, thickness and strength of the material used and the leather-bound metal clip, the case is extremely robust and protects your iPhone from any potential knocks or scratches and the elastic sides mean there is enough give in it to shield it when you inevitably drop it from time to time.

As I said, there is a metal clip, which makes it easy to attach to your belt meaning you can carry your iPhone easily and sliding in and out of the case just as effortlessly. It is compatible with any iPhone model to date as well as the iPod Touch and having used it for a week or two with the latter, I found it to be completely adequate in all it was designed to do. It’s lightweight, sturdy and just feels like a truly quality product.

However, does the Monaco Vertical Pouch Leather iPhone Case justify its hefty price tag? Unfortunately not I’m afraid, as for the same price you can get yourself a months worth of an all new iPhone 4 contract!
