windows-phone-7-logoThere is simply nothing better to kick off the week than a big launch event, and today, we happened to be in luck with the official launch of Windows Phone 7 after Zath’s WP7 preview last week!

Microsoft have made devices available for every network in the UK, and there is quite a bit to mention, so let’s get to it! Here’s your complete overview to Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 launch devices, network by network…

O2 – HTC HD7

O2 are one of the largest networks here in the UK, but they have a surprisingly short list of launch devices for Windows Phone 7. In fact, there is only one device available at launch on the O2 network, but it’s a cracker in the form of HTC’s HD7.

You’re looking at a 4.3-inch WVGA display, a 1GHz CPU, 576MB of RAM, and a 5 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash. If you’re a HD2 owner, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about here, except you have a minor upgrade in the form of Windows Phone 7 with this one!

Orange – HTC Mozart & Samsung Omnia 7

Orange have two Windows Phone 7 devices to bolster their product line going in to the holiday season, from two different manufacturers. The first available device is the HTC 7 (not to be confused with the HD7), named ‘Mozart’.

Now, I’ve always found Mozart to be ever so slightly dull personally, but I’m not going to let that reflect on my views about the HTC Mozart. The device offers a 1GHz Qualcomm CPU, 576MB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage, and 720p video recording next to an 8MP camera. It sets itself apart from the other HTC devices running Windows Phone 7 with a unibody aluminium enclosure, which looks good, and I imagine feels pretty sturdy too.

The Samsung Omnia 7 packs one hell of a screen, with a 4″ Super AMOLED. Running the show inside the phone is a 1GHz Qualcomm CPU (sound familiar?), 8GB of internal storage, and 720p video recording. Big surprises there! The display is definitely the key factor here though, and this device will be one to watch out for.

T-Mobile, Three UK – Samsung Omnia 7

T-Mobile are also launching their line of Windows Phone 7 devices with just the one phone in time for the holiday season. Fortunately, T-Mobile customers can look forward to some Super AMOLED action themselves, as the network will also be carrying Samsung’s Omnia 7 alongside Orange. The same is true for Three UK, which has managed to secure the Omnia on its network as well. Expect a few price wars between Orange, T-Mobile and Three, who will all be trying to get your custom for the device!

Vodafone – HTC Trophy & LG Optimus 7

Vodafone are going to be carrying two different Windows Phone 7 devices in their holiday line-up, the first of which is HTC’s 7 Trophy. Spec wise, the Trophy is extremely similar to the HTC Mozart. It will be packing the same 1GHz processor, 576MB of RAM, and the same 8GB of internal storage too. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the unibody enclosure like the Mozart, and users will have to settle for a 5MP camera rather than the 8MP in the Mozart.

The second device on Vodafone’s Windows Phone 7 list is the LG Optimus 7, which will have a 3.8″ touchscreen, 16GB internal storage, compared to most other devices which have 8GB, and a 5MP camera with 720p video recording. Design-wise, it isn’t as striking as some of HTC’s designs, but it’s still a very respectable WP7 device.
