Microsoft To Release Windows 8 Public Beta In February 2012
Written by John Thompson on December 7, 2011 · Filed under Software
This isn’t entirely unexpected, but it’s certainly good to have a solid date to look forward to. Microsoft has announced that the public beta of Windows 8 will commence in February 2012.
Unlike the early developer preview that we’ve been playing around with for the past few months, the public beta will more accurately reflect what the final release will look and feel like. The public beta will also finally make Windows 8 available for ARM devices, although whether the traditional desktop will be supported in this version isn’t yet known.
When it’s made available, anyone will be able to download the public beta of Windows 8, much like the developer preview, from Microsoft’s website. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on any updates!
