Match! - Super League Football Game
It’s been a while since I posted a new web-based game on the internet, so when I saw this one I thought it was very apt given the new football season is fast approaching.
MATCH magazine has come up with a new football game that coincides with their new season preview edition of their magazine - Match Super League web game. It’s certainly made me aware of them again, I remember buying this magazine on a regular basis as a kid, well having it bought for me of course!
The allows you to create your team including a name and kit colours and then get on with playing the game - this involves taking your chances at volleys, free kicks and penalties. The same goes for your opponents, so you need to try and save in their opposing attacks.
This isn’t a hard-core gaming experience, but certainly a fun little game to while away a bit of time at work as you challenge your colleagues and have a bit of banter going on - with it’s retro-style graphics, it really does remind me of my days of playing the mighty Sensible Soccer on my Commodore Amiga!
Match Super League makes for a quick-fix of football gaming, if you prefer a longer term, more considered approach to football gaming then I recommend you take a look at what Dom wrote about in his recent post; ‘Free Fantasy Football - A Perpetual Gamer?‘ and also get signed up for the 7th season of my free fantasy football league game - the Zath Premiership!

Is it multiplayer games? Sounds interesting!
Hey cool, it kind of looks like Nintendo World Cup.
That reminds me - Nintendo World Cup friggin’ rocks. Hell, pretty much every localized Kunio-Kun game rocks. Super Dodge Ball, Crash and the Boys, River City Ransom…hell yeah. *barf!*

Thanks for your interest guys, it’s been a while since I posted about some web-based games, I think I need to do this on a more regular basis as there’s some great online games out there to provide a few minutes of distraction!
