Mario Kart DS Review
Fans of the Mario Kart franchise will not be let down. This is a pixel perfect copy of Mario Kart 64 with some added goodies. The nostalgia of Mario Kart snaking came flooding back when I played this game – it made me want to dig out my N64 and have a blast on Goldeneye.
If you have played any of the Mario Kart games before you will know the score; oversized cartoon characters racing around in strangely undersized vehicles shooting turtle shells at each other and using “magic” mushrooms to boost you about. People who have not played Mario Kart before do not be afraid. It is easy to pick up and play and will keep you busy for hours.
A couple of new features have been added, and extra weapon hear, a new character there. But the biggest addition is the new game mode where challenges/bosses need to be beaten to gain rewards. Nice addition, but the actual racing has kept me entertained far longer specifically because of the multi player. Nothing more satisfying than beating you friends round a track as a girl character – much better than trying to distract them and being labelled a cheat!
In short tried and tested racer worthy of you hard earned readies and is rightly one of the top games on the Nintendo DS. If you do get it, you might want to know how to improve your racing by learning “how to snake”, this isn’t a Mario Kart cheat, but it will certainly be a skill that will help you win against your friends!

It would be foolish of Nintendo to not follow up with another Mario kart game on the DS. There are many ways to make a good game even better.

I bought this game for the kids but found myself really enjoying this one.
This may go down as another Mario Classic. This guy is good.

Pleased ya like it. I cant stop playing the multi player with friends. Its either Mario Kart or MP Hunters every time. Still not found anything as fun, any ideas?
