‘Manhunt 2′ Released Into UK Community
Manhunt 2, the sequel to one of the most gruesome games ever made is set to FINALLY hit the UK shores this Halloween!
Manhunt has come under huge pressure because of the graphical content of the game, with people asking questions about whether or not a game with this magnitude of violence is appropriate.
Manhunt is made by Rockstar games, and if you don’t know who they are, what rock have you been hiding under?! Rockstar are the company behind Grand Theft Auto 4, just in case you didn’t know.
I played the first Manhunt on the PC, and I have to admit, it was quite sick in parts, but was a good game nevertheless. It never made me want to go out and start hurting people though, which is why there has been a lot of commotion about a sequel. Hence the 18 certificate! If you’re a parent who has kids who want this game…..don’t buy it for them!! – Unless they’re 18+ of course!
The first game was gruesome enough, and I’m guessing this will be more of the same. At first, Manhunt 2 will only be available on Wii, PS2 and PSP. Nothing yet on when a PS3 or Xbox 360 version is being released.
I’m quite intrigued to play the Wii version as you have to use the Nintendo Nunchuck and Wii Remote to act out different killing methods. So if you’ve got some wire and you’re behind someone….…well……..use your imagination!
Manhunt 2 will be released on 31st October 2008, exactly one year after its first release in the US.
Again, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU’RE UNDER AGE OR IF YOUR KIDS WANT IT! I cannot stress this enough, especially the Wii version.
Although I have gone on about the violence in the game, the storyline in the first game was really good and even had Brain Cox voicing one of the characters. If it’s like the first, it’ll be a good game…..just with lots of blood!
From what I’ve read, Manhunt 2 is a good game and if you’ve played the first game or are a fan of the GTA series, then I’m sure you’ll like this too.

I’ve not played these games before and they don’t really sound like my sort of thing, but I don’t ahve an issue with these style of games being available for adults to play. I think I’ll stick to the GTA games for my violence fix, but I would say that the idea of effectively acting out the killing motions on the Wii does kind of seem a little disturbing.

They might have toned it down a little with the Wii version because of all the problems getting it released. But I’ve not read anything to say otherwise as of yet!

I have the Wii version and actually had to stop playing it because I was having dark thoughts. The problem is, I play the Wii for long periods of time, and you do start thinking of creative ways of killing the NPCs. Problem is you are acting out this violence…

It is a little concerning isn’t it? Clearly you realised too, just think about the people who don’t give it a second thought – now that is a bit worrying for society.
I stopped playing Condemned because it seemed the violence was a lot more personal, what with bludgeoning people round the head and such!
