LG Plasma TVs

lg-plasma-tvThe latest range of LG Plasma TV were recently unveiled at an LG Plasma TV bloggers’ event at Fulham FC’s Craven Cottage football ground (LG are their sponsor).

There were three new models on show at the event and these were as follows:

  • LG 32PG6000 (720p) – this is the world’s first production 32? Plasma, normally plasmas are much larger, this would be great if you have a smallish room to fill.
  • LG 50PG6900 (1080p) – this 50″ model features a dual-tuner Freeview+ Plasma with built-in 160GB PVR – very useful indeed!
  • LG 50PG70000 (1080p) – this 50″ beast is the top-of-the-line Plasma with features such as Bluetooth connectivity.

When it comes to home cinema displays – you generally need to make a choice between a high definition LCD or plasma TV. I always spend a lot of time researching what is currently considered the best in terms of quality at my set price point to make sure I get the best deal.

It was 18 months ago when I bought my Samsung 32″ LE32R74BDX LCD TV, but I don’t think it will be too long before I’m looking at upgrading that TV to at least a 42″ given the cheaper prices that these size of TVs are coming down to.

I’ve not done loads of research recently and haven’t actually had a plasma TV before, but these models do look really good for the prices. If you’re looking for a larger size TV, then these are perhaps worth taking a look at.

What do you think to plasma TVs over the option of LCD? Would you go down the plasma route now? Do you currently have an LG TV? What do you think to it?

UPDATE: LG have now announced their LG LCD and Plasma TV Collection for 2009 – you can now go and take a look at some of the latest models that’ll be on offer!

Plasma TV definitely have better hand over LCD TV. I don’t have LG right now. but i have seen couple of in showroom but those models were not able to impress me in color contrast and color temperature performance. i must must admin they tempt me in huge feature list.
i still love my 32″ sony. i have seen better model that in 42″ and 50″ range but right now they are out of my budget. :)
