Lego Indiana Jones DemoWritten by Simon Barker on May 17, 2008 · Filed under Games
Not so long ago I wrote about the Lego Indiana Jones preview video which is a game similar in style to the Lego Star Wars games, but this time round it is based around the original three Indiana Jones movies. Well while checking my email today, I found that the Lego Indiana Jones demo has been released for the PC and is available from the ‘Games for Windows‘ website.
Now I’m not normally a person who bothers to play that many demos these days (I have enough trouble finding the time to play the actual games!) but this time, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to test out my USB Xbox 360 controller and see how the game compares to Lego Star Wars 2 on the Xbox 360 that I’ve got.
Having finished the demo and having played it on my 24″ monitor with the same style controller as my Xbox 360, I can honestly say that I really enjoyed it!
The graphics are really well polished on the PC with some nice effects to complement the more standard looking Lego blocks. In terms of gameplay, using Indy’s signature whip to kill baddies and swing over obstacles is very cool, while the puzzle elements of the game somehow seem more suited to Lego Indiana Jones than they did in Lego Star Wars theme.
Overall I really liked playing the opening part of Raiders of the Lost Ark – running from the big boulder – who hasn’t wanted to narrowly escape that one? – there’s even an in-game reference to Lego Star Wars!
I’m thinking I’ll definitely be picking up this light-hearted Lego Indiana Jones game at a cheap bargain price and re-live these great original Indiana Jones movies all over again – the question is should I get it on PC or Xbox 360? What do you think?
While you’re waiting for the full game to be released, you could also get yourself some real Indiana Jones Lego to play with on your desk!
