Jericho Season 2 CancelledWritten by Simon Barker on March 25, 2008 · Filed under TV/Movies
Jericho was cancelled after season 1 and now it has once again been cancelled by the CBS TV network after just 7 episodes that made up Jericho season 2.
A real shame in my opinion as the show was exploring a great storyline which deserved more screen time to be further expanded upon. It’s been a show that has certainly made me think about the role of large corporations such as Jennings and Rall and how they interact with governments, are the lines between the two becoming blurred?
Apparently two versions of the final episode has been filmed, so I’m hoping given this decision, most of the story threads actually get tied up this time round and we’re not left mid-scene like last year. You can also read about the fallout from CBS having had Jericho cancelled after season 2.
In other news, Jericho season 2′s first UK broadcast will be on the UK Hallmark channel from May onwards (who also showed the first series initially), presumably it will then get shown by ITV at a later date as they then did with series one.
I’m guessing peanuts won’t beat a corporation this time round?
The only hope for the show continuing now is if another American TV network picks it up, with this in mind there is a campaign to find a new home for the show, you can find out what you can do to help by taking a look at Jericho-Kansas.com.
Do you watch Jericho? Do you think it can be saved a second time after Jericho season 2 is cancelled?
One way that fans can show their support for the show in the hope of attracting a new network for a Jericho season 3 is to place their pre-orders for the Jericho season 2 DVD boxset, if you haven’t seen it yet, it’s a great season of 7 episodes and is definitely a worthwhile purchase!
