iTunes 9: So What?!?! – The Teaser!
Ooo, colour me cross. I’m so upset, the “Star field Screensaver” is coming out of my ears, and a couple of other places.
If you haven’t seen the whoopty-fuck of an event that was this year’s steve-note, you can watch it here.
Too soon? Oh, but I jest, obviously you can see it over at Apple. Anyway, let’s all give Apple a cookie for taking 9 major revisions and sometimes weekly 75MB “updates” to get it right. Or in this case (obviously), not.
I’m going to show you how and why iTunes is great for a “Walkman”, but it’s no Windows based file library. We’ll cover practical network streaming scenarios and compare the Apple home sharing technology with native Windows workgroup sharing.
iTunes is now, by its very nature, dated and clunky. For music, it’s fine. For everything else, it’s convoluted and frankly, unnecessary. And the bearded-crowds applauded iTunes 9?
I don’t know what they’re so excited about; it’s worked very well on the Mac for years. Only now is it a pleasure to use on the PC, but it’s a bitter-sweet experience, and I was left wanting.
iTunes 9: So What? Soon on Zath. In the meantime, you can go do your homework and read my iTunes 8 review to prepare!
The Average Windows Nerd.
