apple-ipad-front-back-side-view-whiteWhile the iPhone has had multitasking and iOS 4 for quite some time, iPad users unfortunately are still stuck with iOS 3. If you are wanting me to say that iPad users are getting the new upgrade today, you’re unfortunately out of luck, but we have just had a sneak peak of what is to come in iOS 4.2, coming to the Apple iPad tablet in a November.

What’s in store for the iPad in iOS 4.2? Well a lot of things have made the transition from the iPhone version, including multitasking, but we didn’t get too many juicy details unfortunately.

Multitasking

The iPad will have multitasking just like the iPhone does. It works just as you’d expect, and will most definitely be a welcome addition to the iPad. It looks like the controls and functionality will remain mainly the same, but multitasking is multitasking, right?

Wireless Printing

In addition to the multitasking that will appear in iOS 4.2, users will now be able to enjoy wireless printing on the iPad! This is huge news for anyone who wants to print their documents or spreadsheets from the iPad.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get a huge look at iOS 4.2 at the event, but hopefully we’ll see more details from Apple as iOS 4.2 is rolled out to developers in beta form soon ahead of its official release to standard users in November.
