Hobbit Script Being Written
The team behind ‘The Hobbit’ have started to write the scripts for the two Hobbit movies. Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Guillermo Del Toro have put pen to paper and The Hobbit is finally a reality.
I was worried that this was never going to be made, but with Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis back as Gandalf and Gollum, and the Lord of the Rings’ team back behind the screenplay, this is looking really good - so much better than what this might have been had Peter Jackson not been involved!
As for Guillermo Del Toro directing….well…..this is going to be really interesting, some of his other work includes the Hell Boy films!
The scripts should be finished in 2009 with filming to being in autumn the same year. The first film will be ‘The Hobbit’ which should be released in 2010 and the sequel which will chart events between the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings stories will be released in 2011.
I can’t wait!!

I knew it was just a matter of time! Should be interesting. I loved the story. I’m not familiar with that director though. 2011 sounds so far away though!

I’m really pleased that they’ve got Peter Jackson and his team back for the upcoming prequels, I’m sure that consistency will do the films a lot good!
Oh I overlooked that part. I just got stuck on him not being the director, but yeah, if he’s involved, then it’s likely to have the same quality as the others.

Guillermo Del Toro is the director of Blade 2, Hellboy, Pans Labyrinth and Hellboy 2. He’ll add a different angle to middle earth that Im really excited about and Peter Jackson wouldnt have chose him had he not been the genius that he is!
