Heracles Chariot Racing Preview (WiiWare)

Heracles Chariot Racing is a new racing game from Neko Entertainment, which has now become available on WiiWare. It was released not so long ago in the States, and following on from the success it made over the pond, it’s now available for European gamers as well.

From the videos that I’ve seen, it looks like a mix between Mario Kart and Crash Team Racing. It looks really nice – I would say that because I do love cartoon style games, but this does look like it could be a bit of fun.

There are 8 characters to choose from which include Heracles himself, Zeus and Poseidon, and you get to battle it out over 10 tracks which are spread across 5 different settings. You can attack players with weapons ala Mario Kart, but it seems to keep that fun feeling about it. I haven’t played the game myself and can only go on what I’ve seen, but I’m quite intrigued to play it as I’ve worn my copy of Mario Kart Wii out twice over!!

There are 4 different modes which include Championship, Single Player, Time Trial and Battle, and don’t forget there’s also the chance to have a 2 to 4 split screen multiplayer bash as well.

From what I’ve seen, it could be a good little racer to hold your attention for a while and I think I might have to get it myself and see how it plays. I can’t see it reaching anywhere near the heights of Mario Kart, but it could be surprisingly enjoyable. It doesn’t seem too expensive at only 800 Wii points, so it could be worth a look.
