Harry Potter & Half Blood Prince Release Date Pushed Back!

harry-potter-and-the-half-blood-prince-posterI can’t believe what I’ve just read!

After crying for the last hour, I’ve only just managed to pull myself together to write this blog. Ok, here we go……….Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has been put BACK to July 2009!!

So all of us die-hard fans of the Harry Potter franchise have just been given a swift unforgivable curse (I’ll let you decide which) to the face.

Warner Bros. reason behind this atrocity is because of the writers strike. There are apparently no big films coming out next summer, so they’ve decided to release it against small films such as…..hhhmmmm…..Transformers 2, the new Pixar film ‘Up’ (ha! Like they’re going to make any money!).

Surely the November release that was, would have been much better and no real competition would have been around to stand in the way of the Harry Potter Behemoth, and would have raked in the cash for WB!

Whilst I’m on the Harry Potter subject, The Deathly Hallows is to begin filming on February 2009 with the 1st half of the film being released in “November” 2010.

Well, I’m going to go back to my crying now, maybe watch the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Trailer again and countdown the days until July 17 2009.

This cannot be true… oh, what a shame

SHAME ON YOU WARNER BROS! Pure greed is your only reason, since you admit that the film is ready to air in November but you’ve seen a window of opportunity for a big summer blockbuster next year. It’s all about money as usual and not about people.

I’m really disappointed that we’re having to wait so much longer to see this and no doubt the following films (I’m guessing they’ll be pushed back the same length of time too).

The only other big film I am interested in going to the cinema to watch this year now is the new Bond film - Quantum of Solace = not exactly gonna provide huge competition to Harry Potter given they are completely different films. They could surely have made more releasing this year?

How did they made a trailer then? I cannot believe that they moved release of this Harry Potter film!

The film has been completely finished for ages which is why there’s been a few trailers released! It was ready to be released in November but Warner Bros. decided against it!!

    This is atrocious!!

I could understand if WB weren’t completely happy with the final product, but to delay it for publicity is bloody stupid. I’ll have forgotten all about it before it comes out. I think that’s a good thing.

i’m guessing that the reason for this is because of twiligh?
