Google April Fools 2007
Every year Google seems to take April Fools quite seriously…well in the sense that they obviously spend a bit of time coming up with these little jokes and show that they’re definitely a company with a great sense of humour!
One of my favourites this year is “GMail Paper”!
Not everyone likes email and some want to go back to simpler times - then this is for you! All you have to do is click the “Paper Archive” button in GMail and Google will print your message and delivery it to your door 2-4 days later! You can then do whatever you like with it, such as read it, sort it, search it, touch it or even recycle it! Although, be aware that there will be targetted adverts in large red lettering on the back of each page!
You can see more details of this “brilliant” service here. Given there are certain people at work (you know who you are!) who think I print out too many emails, I found this particularly appealing!
Another good one was “Google TiSP” which offers free wireless broadband in your home…through your toliet! Check it out, I liked the Advanced TiSP Options which mentions “on-site technical support in the event of backup problems, brownouts and data wipes”.
You can find a lot of these kind of Google joke-products over at Googlified where they have a couple of round-up posts here and here.
