Golden Axe: Beast Rider Trailer

golden-axe-beast-rider-logoWhen I remember back to playing on my Commodore Amiga in the earlier days of my gaming, one of the most memorable games has to be the arcade-style Golden Axe! For me one of the best things about this game was the fact that it had co-operative gameplay which really was quite rare back then and really made this game rather unique and fun to play with your friends.

Just check out the video below which shows the Amiga version and take in the nostalgia of the hack and slash gameplay - not to mention the classic Golden Axe music!

Sega have been revisiting quite a few of their old franchises in recent years, for example in the last 9 months or so we were lucky enough to have (in my opinion) a really good update to the Sega Rally franchise - I even got invited to Sega’s UK Headquarters for a blogger’s preview session of that game!

Now is the turn of the mighty Golden Axe! The new game will be called Golden Axe: Beast Rider and I recently read a preview of this game over at Sega Nerds where they voice some concerns over some aspects of the game, but hopefully those issues will be ironed out for the released version. Anyway, take a look for yourself at the recently released Golden Axe: Beast Rider trailer - Did you used to play Golden Axe? What do you think to the prospect of an updated version?

I use to play and love the original title but this looks pretty weak to me. It hardly surprises me though with what Sega have been doing in recent years.

Loved the old school GA and am loving the direction they have taken with the new game.

    Any ideas on release date/platforms?
