Global Secret Santa Idea & World Record Attempt From Firebox

What’s this? A Secret Santa idea which takes the whole concept to a totally different level thanks to Firebox, we’re talking about a Global Secret Santa event here!

With the Christmas season fast approaching, you’ll no doubt be talking about Christmas parties and other festivities at work and one of these activities is running a Secret Santa present giving system (assuming some organised person can sort it out). Obviously the real advantage of being part of a Secret Santa is that rather than everyone having to buy each other presents, each person gets the name of one person to buy a present for. I for one always prefer this as I tend to find it difficult to think of present ideas for people as it is, so this definitely reduces the stress on my part.

With this in mind, the gift retailer Firebox has taken it upon itself to do all the organising for a somewhat larger event; in fact they are running a Global Secret Santa promotion – one that they are hoping to create a new Guiness World Record with!

The great thing about this is that you can be a part of this world record attempt by simply choosing and buying one of fifteen different £9 gifts (one of which includes the rather nifty iPhone Stylus and Touchscreen Cleaning Kit), adding a personal message to the lucky recipient and Firebox will then deliver it to someone around the world in time for Christmas – obviously by taking part, in return somebody will also be sending you a Secret Santa gift too!

Also, you’re guaranteed that you won’t get a Secret Santa present from somebody local as Firebox won’t match you with someone with the same postcode, so housemates or people in the same office won’t get gifts from each other, plus the global delivery cost is included in the £9 cost of the Secret Santa gift.

Who knows what they may choose for you, but I’m it’ll be interesting to receive a Christmas gift from a stranger somewhere in the world and see what they have chosen to send out and what they’ve written in their Christmas message. As I’m now getting into the Christmas spirit myself, I think I’ll now go and make my choice of gift for Global Secret Santa, will you be taking part as well?
