Ghostbusters 3 Movie – Original Actors Sign Up
It would now appear that the much rumoured (and then usually dismissed) Ghostbusters 3 movie is ready to move forward after all the main original cast have now signed up for another outing that’s been scripted by Dan Ackroyd. The script apparently took a few re-writes before Bill Murray was willing to sign-up for a third installment of busting ghosts and given he has a 20% controlling interest, his approval of any potential Ghostbusters 3 is vital.
The basic premise for the Ghostbusters 3 movie will be that the original cast will feature along with some younger, “new generation” ghostbusters being introduced, some of which are rumoured to include Eliza Dushku (Buffy, Dollhouse) and Alyssa Milano. Dan Ackroyd is also hoping to have either Ivan Reitman or Harold Ramis direct, so hopefully the spirit and style of the previous movies will be maintained for this one.
After many Ghostbusters 3 movie false dawns, some of which we’ve previously reported, it’s great to see this project (now looking to be) moving forward, let’s hope that the momentum continues and that as Dan Ackroyd has said, they will in fact be filming by Winter 2009 while at the same time we’ll hopefully be busting some ghosts ourselves in the Ghostbusters video game!

Now that I don’t care about the Red Dwarf Movie any more (after the recent episodes, you’re dead to me, Dave) and the recent “shoplifting of the pooty” by Sony with the Ghostbusters game on X-Box, this news might actually keep me from topping myself.

Dan Aykroyd said 2 months ago that everyone has signed on to make Ghostbusters 3 and it’s even on the GB3 Imdb. I’m very happy about that. Now GB3 will be here in 2012 and filming will began in 2011. Dan also said that the GB3 script will be finished at the end of Summer and Production will began in the Winter of 2009. Things are looking up and I can’t wait to see Ghostbusters 3 in 2012. Even Ray Parker Jr. knows about the third movie being made but he hasn’t been asked yet but I know for sure that RPJr. will be asked to sing a new GB3 song when Production begans this Winter of 2009!
