Futurama Returns in Futurama: Bender’s Big Score!
Futurama is returning in ‘Futurama: Bender’s Big Score‘ dvd! In a recent post I wrote about the Simpsons (specifically the Simpsons’ World of Warcraft episode) I mentioned that my preferred show from Matt Groening would have to be Futurama, if only because it appeals to the geek in me!
I mean with Futurama you have the great comedy style of the Simpsons, but with a lot of the humour centring around science fiction and dare I say, Futurama has a few more subtle, intellectual jokes contained within - perhaps in that sense it’s the Frasier to the Simpsons’ Cheers!
While the Simpsons has now been running forever (well it must be in it’s 50th year of production by now!) - Futurama got ruthlessly cancelled by the network, a young life cut far shorter than it’s more favoured sibling. However, now Futurama been given a new life in some upcoming Direct-to-DVD feature length episodes, the first of which is called “Futurama: Bender’s Big Score’ and is released in America on the 27th November 2007.

As an update, I watched Futurama: Bender’s Big Score today and thought it was great - there’s some time travel aspects going on in this feature length episode which is something I always enjoy in a story - I won’t say too much, but there’s some great Bender/Terminator moments!
