New Futurama Flies Back For Another Season!

That adorably foul-mouthed robot, Bender, is making his way back to screens in Futurama after talks today of Comedy Central getting out their wallets for more after a certain other network saw fit to cancel it. The Planet Express crew haven’t been on TV for new episodes for years now with only repeats being on offer, but clearly they’ve have good loyal viewing figures. It has to be a hard life for creator Matt Groening who has now been asked to make another 13 episodes for the all too eager fans.
Despite there being four Futurama straight-to-DVD films (all made in the last two years) and endless talks of ending the show when the final two seasons were airing, the decision has been made to get the cast frolicking in space once again. And, might I say it’s definitely one of the better decisions to come out of TV bosses mouths for the last few months.
Popularity for the show grew even more when it was axed from the air back in 2003, resulting in the aforementioned DVDs. Fans have proved themselves rather loyal to Bender, Fry, Leela and the others – with them certainly pining for more. I know the mention of this update has certainly made me giddy for more.
We’ll keep you posted with more Futurama news as it comes through. Arrivederci, chaps!

Like you, very excited about this. The quality of the straight-to-DVD films started ropey, but finished very strong, so I can’t wait to see what happens next …
I’m really looking forward to this, despite having only seent he first two dvd movies so far, I enjoyed Bender’s Big Score, but not so much with Beast With A Million Backs – shall have to get the other two watched if they do get stronger! Cheers!
Horray!!! Futurama is coming back….. I am looking forward to see it back on the screens again.
