Football Manager Live Launch Dates

The Football Manager Live launch dates have been put back a little from the original projected dates at the end of October!

This is because of issues that have been found during the latest round of beta testing, specifically the recent Stress Test – Sports Interactive invited a bunch of players to test out the game on one gameworld a few weeks back to simulate what a live gameworld (server) would be like put under heavy (more than expected) load of players in the game.

After missing out on the beta during the last year or so, I was very pleased to be invited to have a chance at participating in this Football Manager Live stress test. It basically involved starting out as a new manager and playing the game as you would normally, I somehow stumbled around the game and found my way around and liked what I found so far in this Football Manager Live preview of things to come.

I think that this was an older version that we were playing on, so the final go-live should be presumably be even better, but I can say now, that it looks quite promising as to how the overall game works. As someone who doesn’t have loads of time to play intense sessions of the regular Football Manager games like I used to, it was refreshing to be able to log on, play a few games, check up on a few things, chat with other managers and then log off without it having lost half a day of my life!

I was also impressed with how small the actual install download was as well as how small the Football Manager Live update was that followed - however this is from someone who is used to large downloads from Blizzard, a lot of which will be for World of Warcraft 3D graphics that this type of game certainly doesn’t have!

At this stage I’d say that it won’t replace the regular games for everyone, but it certainly will have a market, particularly for us non-students! I’m looking forward to the new go-live date of my gameworld, Shearer on the 24th November – expect to see Zath Rovers and the Zath Premiership being recreated on Football Manager Live too!
