Firebox – New Website Design!

One of our favourite online gadget retailers, Firebox.com has given its website a face-lift!

No doubt, you’ll have heard about Firebox before, especially if you’re in the UK, either here on Zath or through other means – Firebox are one of our favourite purveyors of hi-tech gadgets, some lower-tech gadgets and even some things which you’d have a hard time of classing as a gadget at all, but none-the-less there’s lots of great fun products and cool stuff for you to purchase either for yourself or as a present for someone else!

So what’s been changed to make using their website and shopping with “the Firebox” better?

• The site itself is now slightly wider and somewhat less orange – no doubt to be easier on our eyes as more of us upgrade to larger, widescreen LCD monitors!
• The product categories have recently been streamlined to make it more representative of the range of items that Firebox now has on offer and should hopefully make things easier for you finding just the kind of thing you’re looking for!
• One of these categories is the “Seasonal Category” in the top-left of the website – this will always show the most appropriate gadgets for any of the upcoming seasonal holidays and gift-buying events – I can see this being very useful for things like Father’s Day and Christmas where I never know what gifts to get people!
• There is now a rotating section at the top of the frontpage showing all the latest popular items and Firebox news at a glance, which looks quite cool as well as useful.
• Also on the Firebox frontpage are following sections “In the Press” (who else are talking about Firebox), “Twitter Updates” (see the latest updates from the @Firebox Twitter account), “FiredUp Blog News” (shows some of the latest articles from their very own blog) and also news of their competitions such as their recent Top Morph Animations!

Overall, I think the changes that Firebox have made to their site have certainly improved things and makes using and navigating around their website much better – check it out for yourself!
