Final Fantasy XIV Beta Sign-Ups Open

final-fantasy-14-logoJust as Final Fantasy XIII has been released in Japan (slightly jealous), Final Fantasy XIV Online Beta has been made available for people to sign up and apply to get their hands on some early gameplay time in Europe and the US of A.

At the minute the Beta is only available for the PC, but nothing has yet been announced as regards the Playstation 3 version of the game. Obviously, I’ve applied for the PC Beta as I’d love to play this because of what I saw in the Final Fantasy XIV trailer which I’ve mentioned in the past.

There’s no date as to when the PC Beta will be up and running, but you can apply to be one of the lucky testers over on the Final Fantasy XIV website.

I never actually played FFXI online as I’m too cheap to pay for online gaming, but this time around I might make an exception as it looks just too damn nice! There have also been a few changes to the gameplay which include the exclusion of levelling your characters and no experience points. This will make it quite interesting to see what they’ve got in store, but of course you’ll get some gamers who will hate this and prefer to spend 100,000 hours levelling up their characters to level 70.

So go and enter your application now using the link above, and you never know, you could be playing Final Fantasy XIV with a select bunch of people from around the world. Fingers crossed we’ll be some of the lucky few!

It still seems like another grind quest of a kind, though. I would love a story driven MMO, guess I am dreaming though. Also, I agree about the payment model. Must be a better way, seriously.
