It will be interesting to see how the search engines end up ranking these URLs, but what I find more interesting is that the majority of “normal” who are not involved in website development or online activities beyond casual browsing, not only have not chosen a vanity URL, but most aren’t even aware that they could and when I tell them about, just plain don’t care.

we’ll see if vanity URLs will be important….I am not sure if Facebook will give importance to them in terms of SEO.
