Custom Logo Design For ZathWritten by Simon Barker on August 4, 2008 · Filed under Blogging
In the last few days you may have noticed that Zath now has somewhat of a new look – I’ve finally managed to get a custom logo design created for the site and I can’t believe just how much of a difference it makes to whole look and feel of the site.
First of all, I have to say that I do not consider myself to be a creative person, well certainly not when it comes to creating designs, artwork etc.
As you can see below, the temporary logo design that I created a few months back when I implemented the overall new design of the site on it’s first birthday, was well rather simple to say the least – it’s probably the best that I could manage! I could have spent days or weeks trying to create a decent looking logo, but it would never have looked as good as the new custom logo design we now have displayed on the site.
The lesson for me from this has been that it’s all well and good trying to learn new skills – which I try to do on a daily basis as needed. However, ultimately you need to look at yourself and sometimes accept that you’ll never be good enough, or at least it isn’t worth you time trying to develop those skills – in this case I asked someone who’s had around 10 years worth of experience to see if they could ‘work their magic’ on Zath’s logo and they didn’t let me down!
Forest Parks is a blogger located in Canada I’ve come to know over the past few months and more recently he’s started to do some graphics work for me when needed – he’s a great guy with some really good creative ideas who can take a really vague written description of what you’re looking for and put it into a cool looking graphical form.
He’s a done a few bits of graphics work in the past month, all of which has gone through certain stages of development and he’s more than happy to revise things in accordance with your feedback until you get to a design that you’re really happy with. He’s done the following logos for Tech-Styling and Gadgets For Men:
All I can say is that it’s sometimes better to outsource some bits of work, pay a bit of money for a quality product. If you’re looking for someone to give your website a professional and individual style, definitely contact Forest about his Professional Design Services – have a chat with him about what you require and see what he comes up with, you won’t be disappointed!
What’s your opinion on trying to learn to do things yourself as opposed to getting a professional to do the work for you?
