Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D Review (iPhone App)

Fancy a bit of racing action on that iPhone or iPod Touch of yours? Look no further than Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D, available on the AppStore for an incredibly cheap £1.79!

It’s an old schooler in AppStore terms, having been released over a year ago and racing to the top of the App charts. A year on, I’m still playing it, and loving it just as much as the first time I played it.

You can choose from a number of different game modes when playing Crash, including story mode, quick race and tournament modes. As you win each race and complete parts of the story you’ll unlock a new level, which total 12 in all.

Similar to Super Monkey Ball on the iPhone, you control your kart with a very simple and well implemented tilt-screen control. You don’t have to worry about acceleration and braking either as this is done automatically for you (at first this was a bit concerning, but it’s been included well).

You can power-slide your way to victory, and collect various packages that contain weapons to blow up your opponents and gain a tactical advantage! Along the course, you can also pick up letters spelling out the word “CRASH” which will give you bonuses if you can get each letter.

It may be one of the older offerings on the App Store, but Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D is still worth every penny with impressive visuals, well designed tracks and weapons and a soundtrack to match! I definitely recommend you check this out if you’re in the looking for a new game for your iPhone or iPod Touch!
