You remember CopyTrans, don’t you? We’ve taken a look at a few of their products in the past, including their iTunes music and photo alternatives as well as their iPod backup utility. Now they’re back with the latest addition to their line-up: CopyTrans TuneSwift.
TuneSwift has been created to help you transfer your iTunes library to a new computer, and is capable of preparing a PC to PC transfer as well as a PC to Mac transfer. The whole process is so simple, anyone can do it without a hitch, so let’s take a closer look!
The main screen of TuneSwift will give you three options: transfer, backup or restore. If you want to transfer your entire iTunes library then you’ll want to hit the transfer button. We’ll take a look at the other options a little bit later.
As everything will be identical to your old iTunes library all of your iPods, iPhones and iPads will remain linked to the library so that you don’t have to re-sync them from scratch with all the music and applications that you’ve transferred across.
In addition to transferring your library to a new computer, CopyTrans TuneSwift is capable of making a full backup and restoration of your library too. We all know that hard drives fail eventually, and if you’ve never experienced a failure before then you’re probably going to have to deal with one at some point.
Although you could move your iTunes library data yourself, setting it up on a new computer when you need to, it’s not a flaw proof method. You could lose a bulk of your artwork, which you would then have to chase up again, or leave some applications behind by mistake and have to re-download them all from the iTunes store again.
If you aren’t comfortable with using iTunes library files and making sure that all of your data is present then the CopyTrans TuneSwift application is perfect for you.
The application will cost for a license, but it is currently available from CopyTrans for absolutely free for Zath readers until March 15th 2011 using the code TUNESWIFT-ZATH-ROCKS.
You can download TuneSwift from the CopyTrans website, so take a look for yourself, and let us know what you think in the comments!
