We all need cheap fuel prices these days given they have been increasing at an alarming rate over the past few months and it’s becoming increasingly important to try and minimise your fuel costs wherever possible. I’ve found a great service which is called ‘What Gas’ who provides a service where people can visually see where their cheap fuel prices are in their local area (within the UK) by way of displaying petrol stations on a map.

This service is displayed in the format of an overlay on top of Google Maps (see below), this means that the maps are very detailed and interactive, as well as the interface being very familiar to anyone who has used Google Maps before.

By using this service, it also provides a way of sharing your local knowledge of petrol prices to help others in your area, because there is also the option to update the petrol prices information to ensure that it is as up to date as possible.

You can easily set up this service to give you several different areas’ prices. For instance, I typically travel to two areas other than my hometown on a regular basis, so I find this is a great way of checking whether or not the fuel prices are cheaper there that particular week, if they are, I then know to take advantage of the cheap fuel prices.
