‘Rambo Four Movie’ Review

June 29, 2008

rambo-posterRambo (18)

Cast: Sylvester Stallone, Julie Benz, Matthew Marsden, Graham McTavish, Reynaldo Gallegos, Jake La Botz, Tim Kang, Maung Maung Khim, Paul Schulze, Ken Howard & Sai Mawng
Director: Sylvester Stallone
Running Time: 91 minutes

It’s been twenty years since Rambo III and thank God that Sly Stallone is like a fine wine and gets better with age. I thought ‘Rocky Balboa’ was a good film, but Rambo is better.

The last 2 films, I thought, were a bit over the top with weak characters and storyline. But Rambo’s storyline is stronger and is helped along by a good cast.

‘The Incredible Hulk’ Review

June 27, 2008

incredible-hulkThe Incredible Hulk (12A)

Cast: Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, William Hurt, Tim Roth, Tim Blake Nelson
Director: Louis Leterrier
Running Time: 112 minutes

I’m sure I wasn’t the only person who thought ‘hear we go again’ when they announced another Hulk film. I personally thought the first Hulk was the biggest waste of time going.

The more trailers and TV spots I saw for ‘The Incredible Hulk’ the more I started swaying towards the idea that this could be a good film after all.

Star Wars: Clone Wars Trailer

June 17, 2008

star-wars-clone-wars-posterI’ve just watched the new trailer for the new upcoming animated film of Star Wars: Clone Wars which will then be continued in the form of a series on the TV channel Cartoon Network. I love the style of animation and am actually really looking forward to seeing this and think it could repair a bit of the nuclear damage that episode I, II and III have done to the Star Wars franchise.

‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ Review

June 13, 2008

indiana-jones-4-and-the-kingdom-of-the-crystalIndiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (12A)

Cast: Harrison Ford, Ray Winstone, Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf, William Hurt, Karen Allen, Jim Broadbent
Director: Steven Spielberg
Running Time: 122 minutes

I’m a big Indiana Jones fan and was in two minds about this film being released. At first I thought that Harrison Ford would be too old to give us a decent action performance, and because of what George Lucas did to Star Wars, I was nervous. But on the other hand, I really wanted to see another Indiana Jones film. But I was surprised by just how good Harrison Ford still is at action films.

Save Jericho Campaign

May 24, 2008

Jericho Mushroom CloudI recently wrote about the fact that Jericho season 2 had been cancelled and how the fans are once again trying to save the show, however this time round no amount of peanuts being sent to CBS will convince them to produce a season 3.

With this in mind, the fans are organising several efforts on different fronts to show that there is a real market for the Jericho show to other TV networks out there who could potentially bring it back for a 3rd season.

‘Iron Man’ Review

May 5, 2008

Iron ManIRON MAN (12A)

Cast: Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, Terrence Howard
Director: Jon Favreau
Running Time: 126 mins

So begins one of the biggest summers in movie history!

When I first heard Iron Man was coming to the big screen, I was a bit sceptical. Was it to be another poor attempt at introducing a Marvel hero, or was this to be marker for future superhero films?

Watch Lost Season 4

April 24, 2008

lost-logoHave you watched the first 8 episodes of Lost season 4 so far? Have you missed some? Do you not have access to watch Lost season 4 on your TV? I’ve just found a great way for you to catch up, by watching Lost season 4 online!

You can now also buy (well pre-order) the Lost Season 4 DVD boxset here.

The 4th season of ABC’s Lost TV show was originally planned to be shown in it’s 16 episode entirety in one uninterrupted 16 week run, however due to the recent writer’s strike in America, this meant that only 8 episodes got finished before the strike started. This meant that us eager viewers and fans of Lost had to wait until the producers of the show could actually catch up with making the rest of the series (reduced to 14 episodes this year, but seasons 5 and 6 will be 17 episodes in length to compensate for that).

I don’t know about you, but I thought the 5 week break in which we’ve been Lost-free had been quite a long one, especially given that in true Lost style we started getting some answers, only to have lots more questions be thrown at us at the same time! It will be great to watch Lost again.
