What can they do to keep improving it and make it worthwhile upgrading to? Microsoft sure made the prospect of a new version seem exciting with their Office 2010 movie trailer! You could previously try out this software as the free Office 2010 public beta download, however now it’s been officially released, the new office suite is available to buy in three main versions. Having to make a choice on which version to buy can be a task in itself, but it is probably a good thing, it means you don’t end up paying for certain professional software applications you’ll never use, but equally Microsoft aren’t giving us a huge number of variations that only end up confusing us.

The Office 2010 Home and Student version is available for £84.51, and includes Excel, PowerPoint, Word and OneNote and can be installed on up to 3 different computers in your house.

The Office 2010 Home and Business version costs costing £187.44 to buy, you’re paying an extra £102.93 for the privilege of being able to use Microsoft Outlook. Of course, if you’re a business user, then Outlook may be a necessity to you, but for home users, there are plenty of free alternatives to Outlook out there, such as Thunderbird email client, available for Windows, Mac and Linux.

If you’re looking to get the Office 2010 Professional version, you’ll have to part with £357.19, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher and Access.

Microsoft Office 2010 Cheap Student Offer Price

Microsoft often have great student deals, and Office 2010 is no exception. If you’re a student in the UK with a valid .ac.uk email address, you can head over to the Microsoft student offers site, and grab yourself a copy of Office 2010 Professional Academic for just £49.99.

This package involves Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher and Access, meaning that you save a whopping £307.20 on the cover price of the Professional version.

Microsoft Office 2010 Free Trial Download

If you’ve not been using the beta of Office 2010, you can download an Office 2010 free trial from the Microsoft website before you decide to buy. The trial will last for 30 days without interruption before you have to buy, but it’s great that Microsoft do offer this kind of trial, clearly they believe that you’ll appreciate the new improvements in this latest version of their leading office software.

    OpenOffice, Google Docs and Zoho are great alternatives that are free!

    It is like getting a FREE COMPUTER by using one of these alternatives because of the money you can save. A boxed version of Office 2010 Professional is around $499. OpenOffice is free!!
