Bump iPhone App Review
‘Bump’ is a free application available for both iPhone OS and Android that allows people to exchange contact information, or other files, by bumping hands while holding their device.
I tested the application with an iPhone and iPod Touch, which transferred data from one device to the other in seconds. Both users need to have Bump on their device, and when you want to transfer information, both users have to confirm the transfer.
When you launch Bump for the first time, you’ll be prompted to enter contact card information for yourself. When you ‘bump’ with someone, you can transfer just certain information such as your phone number, email or address.
If you want, you can send the recipient your entire contact card. Bump has the ability to transfer more than contact information too – you can select files to send to the recipient too, as well as compare contact information to find mutual friends.
File transfer was extremely quick, so you can exchange files on the go without having to wait ages for your things to transfer from your device to another.
For a free application, Bump has great functionality and may be the push we needed to digitally exchange contact information on the go! Bump have also released their iPhone API, meaning that developers can incorporate Bump functionality into their apps. It’s currently available from the iTunes AppStore or the Android Market for free, so go check it out!
