Bing TV Advert
Microsoft recently re-launched their search engine business with their Bing “decision engine” which they’re hoping will start to make dent into Google’s current overwhelming market share – Bing is already more popular than Yahoo!
Although you can use Bing wherever you are in the world, some of the main features are only being targeted towards the US-based users to begin with and as such Microsoft have been running a Bing TV advert on some of the American TV networks.
In the past, advertising has not been one of their strengths, as shown with some of Microsoft’s “funny” TV commercials that they made starring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld – most people felt that they really missed the mark with them. They then followed that up with some a much more mainstream advertising campaign in the form of the “I’m a PC” adverts which were generally much better received.
Now we’ve got this new Bing TV advert which tries to imply an information overload which is resolved by using Bing as a decision engine to help you choose and get to what you need. You can take a look at it below:
What do you think to this new advert from Microsoft? Have they got a decent message being put across? Have they done a better job than Google’s recent Chrome Browser TV adverts? Does it make you want to try it out and use Bing regularly?

Surely if you want to big up something online its better to advertise online than on tv..
I absolutely adore the bing adverts, especially the first one where a painter comes to two people’s house and then (i think) the wife and the husband
