Beyond Good and Evil

The original Beyond Good and Evil which was released by Ubisoft back in 2003 is a game I have really fond memories of playing. It was a great game that combined a really nice style of visuals with some cool gameplay that took you through a compelling story right to the end.

Beyond Good and Evil had a few different types of gaming styles, including some stealth sections which I don’t always like in some games, but they worked very satisfyingly in this game.

Perhaps one of the most memorable things about this game was that there were very movie-style set-pieces to play through, including a great section where you’re running over roof-tops towards the the camera and also threw in some slow motion - very cleverly done! I remember playing that and thinking that was just plain cool!

Beyond Good and Evil was never quite as successful as it deserved, it was one of those games that was overlooked by the general public, was generally liked by the magazines and websites reviewing it - perhaps the marketing for this game wasn’t as good as it should have been?
