Battlefield 3 Gameplay Trailer Released

Whilst there have been quite a few COD: Modern Warfare 3 rumours flying around, today EA and DICE released the first actual gameplay trailer for Battlefield trailer today, and to put it succinctly it looks nothing short of amazing.
Of course it does look a little too good for real gameplay footage from a game about 10 months away from release, but if the finished article looks anything like this it will put some serious pressure on the more established shooters out there.
Interestingly DICE have said that they used the technology in EA’s sport games (like FIFA 11) to help create the animation in Battlefield 3:
“I started to look inside EA and see what we had there,” lead animator Tobias Dahl told Game Informer. “And, quite naturally, I started looking into the sport games because what they have is animation — that’s what drives their games [...] and it looks pretty good, I’d say.”
Anyway have a look at this first Battlefield 3 trailer and let us know what you think, I for one can’t wait for it now!

Possibly the 10 months to release versus how good it looks is because they are going to make every effort to make sure the game is right at release date. Remember the days when you couldn’t patch games so they had to be right the first time? Developers should go back to the days of being responsible for their productions instead of pounding stuff out and fixing it afterwards.
