Balloonacy – The Internet’s First Balloon Race!
Have you ever taken part in a balloon race? Normally it involves releasing a balloon to travel the country and seeing where it manages to end up, however in the case of Orange they are running a competition for the next week to celebrate the fact that they are releasing their animal tariffs onto PAYG mobile phones.
Zath! is just one of the sites across the Internet that are taking part as a host for the balloon race as shown by this balloon on selected mobile phone related pages such as the Free Orange Sim Card page. Your Orange balloon will travel across as you take part in this unique competition where you race your chosen animal balloon around the Internet completing 1 Internet mile per website. My friend Gaj (of Gaj-It.com) is taking part as can be seen by his comprehensive instructions below!
Get your balloon registered and racing round the Internet, don’t forget to tell your friends and get them involved too and they can help you along the way!
So Here’s How it Works:
1. Go to the Orange site playballoonacy.com and register your balloon, they come in 4 animal shapes a Dolphin, Panther, Canary and Racoon, each with its own statistics, so take some time in deciding which one you think is best
2. When the balloons are released they will float from site-to-site picking up pace, it will also collect stars, in which every 5 stars entitles you to a daily prize draw entry.
3. There is also a prize for the balloon that travels the furthest over the 7 days – every site your balloon appears on is an internet mile, you can also boost the speed of your balloon too by collecting nudges from your friends. If your balloon flies the furthest you’ll win a holiday fun filled holiday to Ibiza worth £16,500 ($30,000).

It was quite a cool promotion, very unique and one that meant I actually found some cool new websites to visit. Hopefully they’ll run another one soon!
