Nintendo 3DS Review – The Good, The Bad And The 3DS!

March 31, 2011

nintendo_3dsThe long awaited Nintendo 3DS is finally here and it would be a shame not to say something. I’ve held every Nintendo console in my hands and rushed to the store to procure the latest member of my little family.

Upon gently removing the new babe from its container I was quite pleased, the blue (I obtained the Aqua version) varies on different parts of the console and sparkles in the light just enough to distract me in a wonderful way.

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn Review (DS)

January 22, 2011

golden-sun-dark-dawn-nintendo-ds-coverSeveral years ago I picked up a game called Golden Sun. I played through, collected all of the Djinn, became emotionally involved with the storyline, and giggled with demonic glee after killing the last boss despite watching Felix get away. Shortly after my conquests, I heard news of Golden Sun: The Lost Age. I waited for its arrival and learned the other half of the story as I played as Felix’s crew of Adepts. I actually became so absorbed in the story that I cried at the end (My girliest gamer moment).

Years passed, I occasionally replayed these games while wondering if there was more to the story than what I had been given. Something didn’t seem right in Weyard. My suspicions were proven correct last year when Golden Sun: Dark Dawn was released. I was immediately excited and wary at the same time. Would a third sequel with a nine year time gap really fulfill my childhood expectations of a perfect RPG?

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, New Playable Races & New Starting Zones Review – Where To Begin?

January 21, 2011

world-of-warcraft-cataclysm-coverThe new WoW: Cataclysm content has arrived after the previously released WoW: The Stattering content patch literally changed the world – now with the latest expansion pack, there are two new playable races in the World of Warcraft!

The dilemma that many players are now facing is whether they want to be a vicious Worgen or a cunning Goblin. Here’s a quick overview of the races and their starting areas to help you decide.

Worgen & Goblin Character Creation Screens

Worgen have the most unique character customization screen that I’ve seen. You get to design both a human and a Worgen, a change to one alters the other. The only complaint that I have about the linked changes is that some of the alterations don’t make complete sense.

“4.ohmy.3″ – World of Warcraft 4.0.3a “The Shattering” Content Patch Update Review

December 11, 2010

world-of-warcraft-cataclysm-logoWhen the World of Warcraft patch 4.0.3a came out, players got a sweet taste of what’s to come in the WoW: Cataclysm expansion. Here’s a small taste of what’s going on.

To start off, the landscape has been completely redone and the graphics have received a major overhaul. Although patch 4.0.1 started this trend with more realistic water and fire, patch 4.0.3a added the cherry on top. The first glimpse of this comes in the form of the revamped log on screen where an angry Deathwing (I’m not sure if he’s ever happy) roars and glares at players from atop Stormwind.

WoW, Why is the Ground Shaking? – What To Do Until The Cataclysm Arrives! (Preview)

November 25, 2010

world-of-warcraft-cataclysm-coverWe’re all waiting for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. People who are playing are waiting. People who are thinking about playing again are waiting. People who have no interest in WoW are waiting for those who are interested to quit talking about the expansion and are thus waiting for the expansion as well.

The question is: what do we all do while waiting for Cataclysm to change WoW as we know it? Fortunately, there are plenty of things to do while waiting for everyone.

Those waiting to renew their account or start playing for the first time have a lot to do. Start thinking about what kind of character you’re going to roll. Faction and race are entirely up to you, but I do have a few suggestions for classes.

If you’re playing by yourself snag a hunter or warlock, they both have pets and with the recent changes to the class spells and the talent trees those pets are more than capable of keeping you on your feet long enough to figure out what you want to do with your character.
