ASUS N-Series Laptop Announced (Bang & Olufsen)

asus-n-series-bang-and-olufsen-laptop-front-view-smallWith the world becoming ever more mobile as time goes on and 3D movies growing in popularity and demand, computer manufacturers have produced some fantastic machines capable of offering both of these properties for as little cost as possible. None more so than ASUS with their latest offering of entertainment laptops. The Bang & Olufsen ICEpowered N-Series laptops are the perfect combination of power and elegance for movie lovers and gamers alike.

The machines are capable of full HD and 3D playback which is clearly something that will be implemented into the majority of entertainment laptops over the coming months.

Obviously, with Bang & Olufsen backing the machine, you would expect the audio to be of high quality too. Therefore this really does make the perfect entertainment machine at what is expected to be a relatively low cost for such a machine and personally I think it looks much better than the ASUS NX90Jq Laptop (Bang & Olufsen design) that was unveiled recently at CES 2010.

In terms of specification it is expected that the machines will pack the latest Intel processors as well as USB 3.0 connectivity. I would expect such a machine will probably come with a standard 4Gb RAM with a cap at probably about 8 or 16Gb depending on the model of which there are three, the N43, N63 and N73. The only difference being the size of the displays and perhaps an upgrade from an i5 to i7 in the higher end models.

All of this is mighty impressive, but the thing that initially impressed me the most is the elegance and styling aesthetically. A brushed metal effect contrasting between different shades of grey and black cover the lid and inside of the laptop with a glossy black border. Touch sensitive multimedia controls line the left hand side of the keyboard which is a spacious chiclet style.

Depending on the price, these machines could be a big seller for ASUS, however price it too high and it may just become an unnecessary luxury. Of course it relies on ASUS’ intentions for the laptops whether or not they are going to be unleashed as a real mainstream competitor. However, I personally wouldn’t expect anything on the south side of £1000.
