Apple Tablet Preview & Consumer Survey Results
Just a quick reminder for those Apple fans out there! Apple (and presumably Steve Jobs) are holding a press event tomorrow, 6PM GMT, to show off its ‘latest creation’ to the world. You can get all the news from the event as soon as it’s over, as Zath will be covering the main stories of the day!
Everyone will be hoping that we finally see the much rumoured Apple tablet or slate product that these rumours have been teasing us about for so long, but will you buy one?
VoucherCodes.co.uk recently commisioned a survey in the UK, to find out what us Brits want from the event, and how much we’d pay! Of those 3000 people surveyed, 54% would consider buying an Apple tablet if it were released, but only 25% said that they’d pay £500 for the device – and it’s most probably going to be more than that, with many suggesting a $1000 price point for the device.
Another interesting fact to come out of the survey is that 49% of those asked would choose Apple’s tablet for a gaming device, over dedicated handhelds such as a Nintendo DS or PSP. This is undoubtedly a great market for Apple, with games on the AppStore costing a fraction of those for mainstream consoles, and providing just as much fun… (don’t believe me? Check out our look at Super Monkey Ball and Crash Bandicoot for the iPhone!).
Whether we see a tablet tomorrow or not, there’s no doubt that Apple has something up its sleeve, and we’re all probably way off in our guesses of what the device would do anyway; most concepts of the iPhone consisted of a click wheel! Don’t forget to visit us after the events conclusion tomorrow around 7.30pm, as we’ll have all the latest stories from the event!
Anyway, you can find the survey results in full below, take a look and let us know what you think to these figures, are these representative of how you feel about the potential product that is an Apple Tablet? Let us know in the comments section!

I think there’s some sort of mistake in the statistics there. why would so few people buy it at under £100?
