Apple iPad Release Date Delayed In UK & Europe

Are you in the UK or mainland Europe and were hoping to get your hands on an iPad by the end of April? Unfortunately, you’re out of luck, as Apple has announced today that the launch of the iPad in Europe has been delayed a month, with the iPad release date now stated as being the ‘end of May’.
The reason for this oh-so-mean behaviour from Cupertino? Too much demand for the product since the iPad US launch, where Apple have already pushed over half a million units since launch day and are still struggling to keep up with increasing demand for their latest and greatest product.
At least we know that the iPad’s here to stay in a market where other tablets have failed, but we’ll just have to wait a little longer to get our hands on it in the UK and see whether it the iPad is the stylish netbook and Kindle replacement – if you’re in the US, feel free to pick one up and send it to us here at Zath!
If you still plan on getting one when it’s released in the UK, watch out for an announcement on pricing and availability. Apple have set a date of May 10th for more information, and we’ll be keeping you up to date on proceedings as per usual! Until then, you can still head over to the Apple website and yearn for the iPad over the pictures and video walkthroughs…or find out another way of getting an early iPad in the UK with BundleBox.
UPDATE: You can now buy the Apple iPad online from PC World!
