5 Christmas Gadget Present / Gift Ideas For Dad (2009)
Over the next few days I will list a number of the best Christmas gadgets you can give to your family. First up is dad. Whether you’re a wife, son or daughter these are great gifts for the father of your household. If you’re struggling ideas this year check out these men’s gadgets and gizmos.
Maggie Thatcher Nut Cracker
A blast from the past. For just under £10 from Firebox.com you can grab an actual nut cracker in the form of none other than Margaret Thatcher. It features her everlasting good looks, obviously. As well as her typical complete blue outfit. It even comes in a special Number 10 box. So what do you think? Would your father like to have an 80’s Tory PM crack walnuts between her thighs this Christmas?

Gentleman’s Ball Scratcher
Surely a must have for any man. Basically a small, lightweight metal rod with a novelty hand attached. It really does exactly what it says on the tin. Shove it down your trousers and scratch away. Not sure if it’s any less impolite than using your actual hand but hey, it’s a laugh. Just a quick note though, it’s for personal use only. Pick this up from Amazon.co.uk for just under £8.

Henry Hoover Desktop Cleaner
Forgive me if I’m wrong but in most households it would have been the lady pushing the old Henry around. Well now dad can have his turn with this miniature replica for his desktop. Powered by a single USB cable, it’s easier to set up and easier to manoeuvre than the real thing and can be extremely useful for getting the crumbs from his Christmas cake out from between the keys on his keyboard. Pick up this neat little gadget from IWantOneOfThose.com for a tenner. It’s also available in a pink Hetty Hoover version.

Bubba Keg
For the beer drinking dad. Whilst mum can have her thermos filled with tepid tea or coffee. Dad can fill his Bubba Keg with his favourite ale and keep it chilled throughout the journey. It’s proved a massive hit across the pond in the states. It comes in 2 different sizes, 1.5L or 2L with just a £3 difference in price from £17 up to £20 from Firebox.com. I guess it really is worth going for the 2L version. After all, bigger is usually better.

The NeoCube Alpha
Literally, just a splat of magnets. But really, they’re so much more than that. There are so many anti-stress toys out there but this really does appeal as one of the best. The NeoCube Alpha is not a puzzle, there is no solution. However, there are almost infinite possibilities for this tricky little contraption. Squash it into flat shapes or curve into balls do whatever you can. Making it into a cube may not be as easy as it seems despite the name. It can be picked up from IWantOneOfThose.com for an admittedly hefty £29.99 but it seems to me like it’s worth every penny. It sure would get its money’s worth of use.

So I hope I have helped you find something fun for those special people in your life this Christmas, be sure to check out the our other Christmas gift guides for 2009 below and best wishes to everyone this year. Merry Christmas!
