PS3 Hard Disk Upgrade

October 24, 2008

ps3-hard-disk-upgradePS3 hard disk upgrades are easy to do, at least that was what was mentioned in the comments of our recent ‘new PS3 160GB’ post – with that in mind I thought I would go out and do a little research on this subject to see just what is involved.

I was pleasantly surprised to see just how simple Sony have made the process of replacing a corrupted hard disk and also that of upgrading your PS3 hard disk to a larger capacity – which in turn means you don’t have to go out and buy a new PS3 to replace your smaller hard disk model.

Haunted Portrait Pictures

October 23, 2008

haunted-portrait-picturesHave you got a haunted house? Have you got haunted portrait pictures? If you haven’t then you’ll definitely want to get some for your upcoming Halloween parties! Or maybe you’re a horror fan?

These haunted portrait pictures look like innocent black and white photos of your ancestors, perhaps a beloved great grandparent? However, they hide a nasty secret, they are in fact haunted, perhaps like something out of the upcoming Ghostbusters 3 movie?

What Is Artificial Intelligence?

October 22, 2008

asimo-robot-artificial-intelligenceArtificial intelligence learning capabilities were recently covered in a TV show I watched about technological advancements which posed the question what the future might hold for us.

I’ve always found this area of artificial intelligence quite interesting way back from when I was just a kid playing electronic games, watching the Wargames movie and programming robotic toys. Once I started playing with computers and inevitably games, which brought with them some basic artificial intelligence which depending on the game could either be very easy or very hard to beat – the classic, timeless games are typically the ones which had a good balance which in turn equalled, good gameplay!

Twitter Clients & Applications

October 21, 2008

twitter-logoI thought I’d give a little update as to how I’ve been using Twitter and what I currently think to it given my initial Twitter scepticism for the service when I first started blogging over 18 months ago – how times have changed, how those archives can come back to haunt you! ;)

If you’ve been following Zath on Twitter for the past few weeks you’ll already know that I tend to go through days of several Twitter updates to some where I may only reply to other people’s Twitter – essentially using it as a chat or IM service. Either way, I’m finding that the Twitter community is a great one to be a part of and have found people answering questions that I’ve Twittered even though we may not have chatted before.

Amazon UK Supersaver Delivery Now Just £5

October 20, 2008

amazon-uk-logoHave you used the Amazon Supersaver delivery option before when ordering from Amazon.co.uk? Ever since it was introduced into the UK a few years ago, I’ve always tried to take advantage of it to save having to pay extra on delivery costs.

In terms of delivery service, I’ve found that using the Amazon Supersaver option is rarely any worse than the standard delivery options of other online companies, clearly there isn’t the special priority being given to your order at Amazon to get it to you next day, but in most cases, I’m quite happy to wait for a few days to receive my items if the delivery is free.

October 20, 2008

wifi-detector-t-shirtDo you need a WiFi Detector T-shirt? Well have you ever thought, ‘Ooo! I’d love to be able to have an item of clothing that will let me know when I’m in an area with good WiFi signal’. Well now all your dreams have come true because you can. Whether you thought that or not.

Windows 7 Officially Named…Windows 7

October 19, 2008

windows-vista-logoThe successor to Windows Vista has now long been codenamed as simply Windows 7, but it would now appear that Microsoft are going back to basics in another sense and simply calling their 7th version of Windows (in terms of software builds), “Windows 7” when it comes to market.

I wonder if this ties in with their new approach that they seem to be taking with their Windows products that includes their funny Microsoft TV Commercials and also they more mainstream ‘I’m a PC’ adverts.

Bourne’s Back 4 More!

October 19, 2008

jason-bourne-on-bikeIt has been officially announced that there will be a fourth Bourne film. Universal have given the green light for the amazingly popular espionage action trilogy to go ahead and make a fresh story.

The story is going to be written from scratch by George Nolfi who was the writer behind Bourne Ultimatum. So this new story won’t have anything to do with Robert Ludlums stories of Bourne or the later novels written by Eric Van Lustbader.

Overlord: Raising Hell (PS3)

October 18, 2008

overlord-raising-hell-ps3-coverI read a review for Overlord: Raising Hell (PS3) a few weeks ago because it was just there to read. But after reading what the game was about and what you could do, I really wanted to play it and so glad that I have.

Imagine a mix between Pikmin, The Lord of the Rings and Fable and you have Overlord!

The point of the game is to use your ‘minions’ to accomplish certain tasks such as opening gates, collecting treasure or killing great big fat Halflings. If you want to kill some innocent villagers and become an evil overlord, then so be it.
